Today I am here with the new post to teach you about formatting Hard Disks using CMD.

To Format a Hard Disk Follow the following Procedure:

  1. Boot from a Bootable pen drive or other storage devices where a Windows ISO file is present.
  2. Press Shift + F10  on the screen where the Install Windows Screen Appears.
  3. Open CMD or Powershell in Administrator Mode.
  4. Type the first diskpart command then enter it into Diskpart Program.
  5. Type the following command and wait for the execution of the command.
  6. List Disk: This command list the available disk in your computer.
  • Select Disk #no: This command helps to select your disk and here #no means enter the disk number you want to select For example: select disk 1
  • Clean: This command permanently erases/destroys all data on the selected drive
  • create partition primary:  This command makes disk partitions, volumes on a single disk or multiple disks, and virtual hard disks.
  • format fs=ntfs (you can replace NTFS with FAT32 or other file systems)
  • assign: This command assigns a drive label letter to your disk
